Video blogger – women’s social media site

You’ve got personality plus. And the plus includes views on current issues – as well as everyday life.

And have we mentioned a sense of humor? It’s an absolute must. You’ve also gotta have friends (or enemies – hey, we’re not gonna judge) willing to appear with you on camera. At least sometimes.

This all adds up to what we’re looking for in a video blogger: someone who can create your own unique version of “The View” for our fast-growing online community: pnn.com, the Personal News Network.

We’re a group of bloggers from around the world (we’re known as “The Global Water Cooler for Women”) looking for entertainment, enlightenment and encouragement. And we’re a creative and welcoming community.

Which doesn’t mean we’re all deadly serious all the time. We crave a good laugh. Especially in these times!

and grassroots is good. We’d rather you be authentic than slick (though your “show” has to be consistent and high-quality enough to capture our audience’s ongoing engagement).

If you think you’re up to the challenge we want to hear from you – you might be the next vlogoshere star!

To apply, click on this link, sign up and post as much as you want about yourself and your ideas for the show. Put up a video if you have one. None of this is required, but we will make our choice from among the vloggers in this group, helped by feedback from our audience, so do the best you can. And, yes this is a paid job, negotiable.

    Austin Lifestyle Blogger

    Description:

    Austin Lifestyle Blogger

Do you know Austin inside and out? Can you review a trendy new restaurant on Monday, snap photos for a walkthrough of a new hotel on Tuesday, interview a local celebrity on Wednesday, and recommend an unknown band destined for stardom on Thursday? If so, please apply for this unique opportunity.

Two Global 1,000 companies have teamed up to publish a blog that will cover Austin — dining, hotels, art, local entertainment, insider tips, etc. Fun stuff only. Austin only. Sort of like the lifestyle section of a local newspaper but entirely online with more editorial freedom.

As the blogger/reporter, you'll spend approximately 30 hours per week researching and writing for the blog. Your compensation will be the equivalent of a full-time job yet you'll still have time for other freelancing projects — though this blog will be your priority.

If you have the qualifications we seek, please apply. If you know someone perfect for this role, please refer them to this opportunity. We pay a $250 referral fee.

    Qualifications

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

Austin: You must reside in Austin or in a nearby suburb as you cannot report on a city unless you're on site. You must have an interest in Austin's dining, entertainment, and hospitality scene. You must have a discerning palate and a basic understanding of cocktails and wine upon which you can build (vegetarians and teetotalers need not apply).

Experience: At least one year of experience professionally blogging or reporting, preferably on lifestyle topics and preferably for a well-known commercial publication. The more experience you have, the better.

Writing Skills: This requirement goes without saying. Most people with writing talent usually draw praise throughout their academic life and career.

Research Skills: You must have a knack for finding the proverbial needle in the haystack, which typically involves more than just searching Google.

Interview Skills: You will interview celebrities and others so you must know how to frame questions that elicit information.

College Degree: Please list your cumulative GPA, especially if you have only 1-2 years of experience.

Equipment: You must own a car. If you use a Mac computer, great. If not, we'll provide you with one.

    How To Apply

Please tell us about your qualifications and your familiarity with Austin. Also, tell us about your availability, and attach your resume. Please email your application to:
